Every year, the Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Detroit Chapter observes National Philanthropy Day with a ceremony honoring many of metro Detroit’s extraordinary volunteers. Of those honored by the AFP was Employees Only CEO Mario Apruzzese. Apruzzese was given the award of Distinguished Volunteer for his charitable works at the Society of St. Vincent De Paul. He was one of 78 individuals bestowed with this award. According to the AFP website, the Distinguished Volunteers are “advocates, leaders, and mentors whose passion for their respective causes inspire philanthropic action and community involvement in southeast Michigan. Distinguished Volunteers are nominated by local organizations to recognize the time and energy that each volunteer devotes to the day-to-day operations and successes of their organization over the past year.” As Mario takes the lead in the community in fundraising and philanthropy, the entire Employees Only team follows suit and is dedicated to the Detroit metropolitan region. We believe that giving back to the local community in which you live is essential to keeping it vibrant and growing.
